The Association Agreement (AA) aims to deepen political and economic relations between Moldova and the EU, and to gradually integrate Moldova into the EU Internal Market-the largest single market in the world.

This includes the setting up of a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), which is a core part of the Agreement.

The Association Agreement was initialed on 29 November 2013 in Brussels. It was signed on 27 June 2014 and is being provisionally applied since 1 September 2014. It will officially come into force once ratified by all 31 signatories.
