Economic councils of CIS
The CIS Economic Council is the main executive body that ensures the achievement of adopted agreements’ requirements within CIS by the Council of Heads of CIS and the Heads of Government's Council regarding the formation and functioning of a free trade area and other issues of socio-economic cooperation. The Economic Council is composed of Deputy Chiefs of Government of CIS member states.
Within the Council, is working the Committee on Economic Affairs, which has its headquarters in the Moscow subsidiary building of the CIS Executive Committee. The Commission is composed of the authorized representatives of all the Member States of the Community, with the exception of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. It deals with completing and reviewing the draft documents prepared by the CIS Executive Committee and socio-economic bodies, as well as with the harmonization of the positions of the Member States.
