EUSDR

The European Union Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) aims at developing the economic potential and improving the environmental conditions of the region. At the same time, it encourages long-term cooperation, both between local and regional authorities, and between authorities, the private environment and NGOs, by generating projects for the region's development.

The countries included in the Strategy are those covered by the Danube Cooperation Process: Germany (Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria), Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Romania, Bulgaria, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. Among these states, eight are member states of the European Union and the other are involved in various co-operation initiatives with the European Union, some of them with the stated aim of becoming a closer or longer member of the EU in the future.
