The Government of the Republic of Moldova emphasizes the strengthening of the growth of the IT industry as well as the extension of its potential.

The given vector is clearly outlined by the strategic documents such as the National Strategy “Digital Moldova 2020” and the Strategy for increasing the competitiveness of the IT industry, which sets the priorities and interventions in this regard.

Recognizing the close link between the IT industry and innovation, a holistic assessment through critical objectives of the interested parties has been achieved to unlock and strengthen economic and social opportunities.

For this purpose, a clear vision of the challenges and opportunities, which are currently facing the IT industry has been generated with the support of international expertise through country assessment, dedicated to the “National Framework for Digital Innovation” by experts of the International Telecommunication Union and the research conducted by the “Avasant” Consulting Company.

These specific recommendations regarding policies, programs and projects in sector will serve as a reference tool to support ICT innovation and, as a result, will facilitate the transformation of the Republic of Moldova into a potential hub for emerging technologies based on the digital innovation ecosystem.
